Positive Futures Warrington spruce up the Bewsey Gym

Youngsters from across Warrington have been given the opportunity to create a mural with the BEWSEY GYM, their new base whilst doing sports and fitness activities with POSITIVE FUTURES and FIT KIDZ, working with ZAP GRAFFITI ARTS to learn the skills of the professional graffiti artist at first hand discussing issues in their area and looking at how graffiti as an art, can be used as a positive tool in the community.

DAY 1:

Today we first had a little practice with the spray can, our main tool for the project at hand..and created this..in honour of their favourite sport..Rugby.

The kids do each bit, straight off and straight up.

After this test, the young folks came up with a plan on paper.

DAY 2:

Marking out and filling in.

Today the fellas get busy on their main piece to decorate the main games hall, producingĀ  a work based on the city of Warrington, sport in the area, and the land marks with some positive slogans to aid the other folks using the space..

Gettin' busy.

The guys did this…with minimal help in 3 HOURS!

YOU’RE THE NEXT TARGET!

ZAP GRAFFITI ARTS were drafted in by JUICE FM to work with two schools in Liverpool to develop a campaign title for organsation D-MYST, who raise awareness of the how tobacco companies market to young people.. in sly ways through the media.

Children from Archbishop BeckĀ  and Cardinal Hennan High Schools, heard the figures, facts and even statements from tobacco executives on how they consciously market to their main customer feed..the youth.. and discussed ways of getting the message of this across to their peers on being aware of this.

Discussing the issue and Coming up with the concept

The outcome: The young people came up a tour package title, which will be used in forthcoming D-MYST programmes.

“AIMED AT”

“YOU’RE THE NEXT TARGET.”

The team then went on to create some art work for it.
